Merrimac Ferry

The Merrimac Ferry is a must for your visit to Columbia County.  The free Merrimac Ferry is located on Hwy 113 across the Wisconsin River/Lake Wisconsin area between Okee and Merrimac. It is operated 24 hours a day, seven days a week, from about April through November, depending upon the weather. Well over 200,000 vehicles travel on the Ferry a season.

Bring your camera because you will see beautiful scenery and native wildlife to the area.  This is the only free ferry in Wisconsin, and the ride takes just about 7 minutes to cross the Wisconsin River to the other shoreline.  Many people make a special trip to our area just to the ride the ferry on a summer afternoon.  Not to mention, while you wait for the ferry to arrive you can enjoy a cool summer treat of ice cream at the local shop or even enjoy a picnic lunch in the newly renovated park area.

Amish are well known for their beautiful handmade quilts, baskets, furniture and many other items.
